I am Ariful Islam Emon, a Data Science graduate student and experienced IT professional with over 14 years of industry experience spanning software development, database administration, data engineering, and enterprise IT leadership. Currently pursuing an MS in Data Science at the University of Houston–Clear Lake, I bring a unique blend of strong academic grounding and real-world, production-level problem-solving experience.
My career began in broadcast media technology, where I grew from a developer into Deputy Manager of IT at Ekushey Television Ltd., leading mission-critical systems that powered live broadcasting, newsroom operations, and enterprise data workflows. This background shaped my ability to work with high-availability systems, large datasets, and cross-functional teams under time-sensitive conditions.
Today, my focus is on data science, machine learning, and AI-driven analytics, where I aim to transform complex, unstructured data into actionable insights. As a Student Research Assistant at UHCL, I work on centralized scheduling algorithms for transactional memory execution, strengthening my foundation in algorithmic thinking, distributed systems, and research-driven development.
I am equally comfortable writing optimized SQL queries, building ML models in Python, designing dashboards in Power BI, or supporting end users with data and IT issues. My long-term goal is to build scalable, ethical, and business-impactful data products that bridge engineering, analytics, and decision-making.
